LC baseball wins again

[April 04, 2011]  Lincoln College was able to complete a four-game sweep of conference foe Illinois Central College with 10-8 and 14-1 victories en route to their fifth straight win.

In game one on Sunday afternoon, the Lynx trailed by four going into the home half of the fifth but were able to score six runs in the next two innings to come away with the win. In the fifth, Tyler Wallin (Elkhart, Ind.) connected with a two-run home run to boost the offense. Brad Passini (Standard) earned the win, and Kenny May (Belleville) received the save.

In game two, the Lynx racked up 14 runs in the first four innings to help give Miles Quintal (O'Fallon) his first win of the season. Quintal held the Cougars to only three hits in the game while striking out six.

The offensive leaders for the day were May 5-7, 2, 2B, 2, 3B, 3 RBIs; Wallin, 3-5, HR, 2 RBIs; Milton Alvira (Orlando, Fla.) 3-6, 2, 2B, 4 RBIs; and Josh Cook (Yorkville) 3-6, 2B, 3B, 5 RBIs.

The Lynx (11-10, 7-1 MWAC) will travel to Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., on Wednesday for a nonconference game.
