[April 06, 2011]  Bob Sullivan, president of the Lincoln Kiwanis Club, has announced that their annual Mother's Day buffet will be bigger and better than ever.

The May 8 event will be at the Meyer-Evans Student Center at Lincoln College.

Chef Warren Wendlandt and his staff will have many specialty items for diners to choose from this year, Sullivan said.

The main entrees will be carved steamship round of beef, grilled chicken breast on a bed of wild rice, beer-battered cod fillets and grilled German knockwurst.

Besides the entrees, Wendlandt will have tables filled with various salads, pastas, breads, fruits and desserts.

New this year will be a waffle table with several toppings available for youngsters and those who enjoy waffles.

Sullivan said the club added many new items to make taking that special mom out for brunch with the Kiwanis the place to be on mom's special day.

To help families afford the day, the club offers special prices so families can have a special meal at extremely reasonable prices.

Adult ticket prices are $15; children 7-11 years of age eat for only $5; and children 6 and under eat for free.

Tickets are available from any Kiwanis member and can be purchased at the door.
