[April 08, 2011]  NORMAL -- The Lady Lynx dropped two games to Heartland Community College on Thursday afternoon.

LC lost the first game 11-0 behind the pitching efforts of Shelbi Rentmeister (6-7), who threw the first two innings. Jana Wright came in to finish the game.

"These girls have worked really hard the past few days, and pitching three consecutive days is difficult," said LC coach Crystal Wurth. "They did a great job working together, but the Hawks were aggressive with the bats and dominated the first game."

Kristen Cooper and Danielle Stephenson had one hit each and provided the only Lynx hits in the game.

Karla Shappell took the loss for the Lynx in the second game, 14-1.

The Lynx rallied on six hits. Katie Kramer went 2-3 and scored the only run of the game. Danielle Stephenson, Kristen Cooper, Blake Walch and Krystal Woodworth contributed one hit each.

The overall record for the Lynx drops to 12-16.

LC hosts Parkland College on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Lincoln Land Community College on Sunday at 1 p.m.
