Kiel Turpin earns NJCAA 1st-team all-American status

[April 09, 2011]  Kiel Turpin of the Lincoln College Lynx was named to the men's basketball all-American first team in NJCAA Division II.

Selections were made by each division's basketball committee at the NJCAA's annual meeting March 26-29 in Tampa, Fla.

Over the last two years, Turpin helped the Lynx to a 58-13 record, back-to-back conference championships, back-to-back national championships and is only the second player to ever win MVP of the national tournament two years in a row.

He averaged 15.5 points and 7.9 rebounds a game. He also ranked fourth nationally in blocked shots (3.4).

Turpin has signed to play basketball at Florida State University.
