[April 13, 2011]  BRATISLAVA, Slovakia (AP) -- Officials say a cruise ship carrying more than 100 tourists has collided with a cargo ship in a Danube River channel near the capital of Slovakia.

No injuries have been reported.

Fire department spokesman Ivan Petko says the collision occurred early Wednesday south of Bratislava. He says a German cargo ship carrying corn was badly damaged and is sinking. Five crew members escaped unharmed.

Petko says the passengers from the Maltese cruise ship, which was only slightly damaged, are being evacuated. He said the captain was confident the ship could reach the port in Bratislava.

More details were not immediately available. The cause of the collision is being investigated.
