[April 15, 2011]  ATLANTA, Ga. (AP) -- The Georgia Legislature is for laws -- and lovers.

Swept up in the fervor of the last day of the General Assembly, the 24-year-old son of a state senator proposed to his father's legislative aide atop the Capitol on Thursday evening.

Sen. Barry Loudermilk beamed as he announced the engagement of his eldest son, Travis, to Sarah Redwine, who is 21 years old. The couple met while rock climbing in November 2009.

Travis Loudermilk got down on one knee at the top of the building known as the "Gold Dome" for its shiny cap. The area is typically off-limits to the public.

Travis Loudermilk works for U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey of Georgia.

Sen. Loudermilk represents Cassville, which is about 50 miles northwest of Atlanta.
