LC falls 12-5 despite
Steiner's effort Derek Steiner went 3-4 at the plate, but
Lincoln College fell 12-5 to Rend Lake in the first game.
Two of the Lincoln College runs were scored thanks to timely
hitting by Steiner. He singled in the first, sixth and seventh
innings.
Rend Lake's O'Daniel and Peters combined for three hits and four
RBIs.
Lincoln College starter Lucas Wright was strong on the mound, as
he threw strikes on 33 of his 46 pitches. Wright collected no
strikeouts and walked one.
Rend Lake plated three runs in the bottom of the third. Warren
started the inning with a single, bringing home Arias. That was
followed by Guest's single, scoring Ray.
One run in the top of the fifth helped Lincoln College close its
deficit to 4-1. An error sparked the LC rally. Finally, Rend Lake’s
Hunt got Xavier Gomez to strike out to end the threat.
LC falls 11-1 despite Cook's effort.
Lincoln College collected seven hits but fell 11-1 to Rend Lake
in the second game.
Josh Cook did his best to start rallies for Lincoln College,
reaching base two times. Cook tripled in the second inning.
Fortner and Arias helped lead Rend Lake. They combined for four
hits and three RBIs.
Rend Lake never surrendered the lead after the first inning,
scoring two runs on a wild pitch and a fielder's choice.

Lincoln College scored its only run of the game on an RBI single
by Cody Johnson in the second inning.
Rend Lake built upon its lead with three runs in the third. A
fielder's choice scored LaBuwi to kick off the inning. That was
followed by a passed ball, plating Larrison.
Lincoln drops to 15-13.
