Local emergency assistance board to meet May 9

[April 15, 2011]  The Logan County Emergency Food and Shelter Program board will have its annual meeting May 9 at 10 a.m. at The Salvation Army Keest Center. The program is also known as EFSP.

The Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program was created in 1983 to supplement the work of local social service organizations within the United States, both private and governmental, to help people in need of emergency assistance. This collaborative effort between the private and public sectors has provided over $3.6 billion in federal funds during its 28-year history.

Representatives of agencies located in Logan County interested in learning more about the program are encouraged to contact Rebecca Van Nydeggen, director of The Salvation Army Keest Center, at 217-732-7890.
