[April 15, 2011]  During a board-of-whole meeting of the Logan County Board, Bill Martin, board liaison to the Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership, said that the partnership's current executive director, Joel Smiley, would be moving on.

Smiley has been with the local partnership that promotes economic growth for just over three years.

A search committee for a new director is being formed and would be headed by Steve Smith, Martin said.

In the meantime, Martin said that arrangements have been made for the office to continue its work in the absence of a director, including fielding calls and maintaining the contacts that are in process.

Also, the fundraiser luncheon set for May 13 at Lincoln College will go on as planned.

A news release from the agency is expected later today.
