[April 19, 2011]  WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Lincoln College track team battled tough conditions and great competition at the Purdue invitational over the weekend. Some of the other teams at the meet were Notre Dame, Ohio State and Valparaiso.

Placing in the top eight for Lincoln:

• Justin Smith, second in long jump

• Eric Reeves, fourth in long jump

• Ishmil Lindsay, fifth in high jump

• Hamza Malik, fourth in triple jump

• Women's 4x100 of Shay Jackson, Michia Moore, Detrius Brown and Samantha Horton, seventh

• Men's 4x100 of Eric Reeves, Justin Smith, Brandon Boyce and Lekpea Kordah, second

• Tristian Joynes, eighth in 110 hurdles

• Samantha Horton, sixth in the 100

• Jordan Johanson, eight in the 800

• Justin Smith, fourth in the 200

No team scores were kept.

The Lynx will be in action next on April 30 at Illinois College.
