Boatman to speak at LCU Founders' Day

On Tuesday, Lincoln Christian
University will celebrate its Founders' Day with a special chapel
service featuring Seminary Dean Dr. Paul Boatman speaking from 2
Timothy 2:22 on "A Persistent Mission in a Changing World." The
Founder's Day service will be in the Earl C Hargrove Chapel at 9:30
a.m.

Boatman has led the pastoral care and counseling department at
Lincoln Christian since 1978. In the 15 years prior, he was involved
in preaching, inner-city ministries and campus ministries in
Missouri and Illinois. He and his wife have also served in
short-term mission work in Mexico, St. Vincent, Dominican Republic,
Haiti, Austria, Ukraine, Kenya, Congo, India, Thailand, Indonesia,
China and the Philippines. Boatman holds degrees from St. Louis
Christian College (Bachelor of Arts, 1966), Lincoln Christian
Seminary (Master of Divinity, 1974), and Eden Theological Seminary
(Doctor of Ministry, 1977). He has also studied in the School of
Theology at St. Louis University. He has received certificates for
clinical pastoral education and for pastoral counseling from Care
and Counseling of St. Louis. He is a charter member of the American
Association of Christian Counselors.
Locally, Boatman has served as an elder and ministry leader at
Lincoln Christian Church. He also serves on the Chaplaincy
Endorsement Commission and on several mission and service agency
boards.
Boatman was raised in Minneapolis, Minn. He and Mary have been
married since 1966. The Boatmans have two married daughters, Angela
and Rachelle, and seven grandchildren. His outside interests include
running, canyoneering, mountain climbing, motorcycling, fishing and
photography.
