The crowning of a new fair queen -- Album 4

As the 73rd Miss Logan County Fair queen contest began to wind down, the departing queen, Bethany Rea, delivered a heartfelt and sometimes emotional farewell speech. She spent much time thanking dozens of people who have supported her in her reign over the past year. She said that the year as queen as helped her to love and appreciate Logan County more than ever before.

At the end of the evening, the first award given out was for Miss Congeniality. It went to Kelsey Mariah Bunner of Lincoln. Kelsey is the daughter of Scott Bunner and Rachel Bunner. She graduated from Lincoln Community High School and is currently a student at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

The Crowd's Choice award went to Shelby Daughtery of Atlanta. Shelby is the daughter of Tonya Bassett and Benjie Daugherty. Shelby is a graduate of Olympia High School and is currently attending Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.

Second runner-up was given to Kelsey Bunner, and the first runner-up was Dani Juilfs. Dani is the daughter of Mark and Becky Juilfs of Lincoln. She is a graduate of Lincoln Community High School with plans to attend Parkland College this fall.

And finally the moment all had waited for -- the announcement of a new Miss Logan County -- and the honors went to Kelsi Noel Ubbenga of Hartsburg. Kelsi is the daughter of Kevin and Gail Ubbenga. She is a graduate of Hartsburg-Emden High School and plans to attend the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana this fall.
