[August 06, 2011]  AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- After two days of the Bridgestone Invitational, it seems just about everyone is in contention.

Except for Tiger Woods.

Rickie Fowler had eight birdies and an eagle in a wild round of 64 Friday, putting him in a four-way tie at Firestone with Adam Scott, Ryan Moore and PGA Tour rookie Keegan Bradley.

A dozen players are within three shots of the lead entering the weekend.

Woods was playing in his first tournament in three months. He struggled to a 1-over 71 and was in the middle of the pack, seven shots off the lead and 35 players in front of him.

Woods missed a 2-foot par putt, twice struggled out of the bunkers and failed to take advantage of soft conditions on a course that typically plays much tougher.
