4-H Foundation Scholarship winners announced

[August 10, 2011]  The Logan County 4-H Foundation recently presented scholarships to five Logan County 4-H members at 4-H Night during the Logan County Fair.

Kristin Bishop, daughter of Donna Bishop and David Bishop of Atlanta and a graduate of Olympia High School, received a $500 Xamis/4-H Foundation Scholarship. She is currently a University of Illinois sophomore and is majoring in pre-nursing.

Daniel Fulton, son of John and Sherry Fulton and a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, received a $500 Graue Inc./4-H Foundation Scholarship. He is participating in the Pathways program through dual enrollment in Parkland College and University of Illinois and is majoring in crop science.

David Fulton, son of John and Sherry Fulton and a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, received a $500 4-H Foundation Scholarship. He is also in the Pathways program, dually enrolled at Parkland College and University of Illinois, and is majoring in agriculture education with plans to teach at the high school level and be an FFA adviser in the future.

Ryan Huffer, son of Jeff and Patty Huffer and a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, received a $500 Ross Conrady Memorial/4-H Foundation Scholarship. He will attend Southern Illinois University Edwardsville this fall to major in mass communication and hopes to go into sports broadcasting.

Hayden Zimmer, son of Rick and Gail Zimmer and a graduate of Lincoln Community High School, received a $500 Rankin Family Memorial/4-H Foundation Scholarship. He will attend Trine University in Indiana this fall with plans to major in civil engineering.
