[August 11, 2011]  On Saturday, U.S. Sen. Richard Durbin will be in Lincoln to visit with Logan County Democrats at their monthly meeting. His visit will be at the Lincoln Knights of Columbus, 217 N. Limit St., at 10 a.m.

Durbin regretted that he was unable to attend the Democrats' recent fundraiser event due to the debt-ceiling vote crisis in Washington, D.C.  He is the majority whip in the U.S. Senate.

The senator had sent two speakers on his behalf to the July 29 event, and his downstate chief of staff, Bill Houlihan, remarked that the senator would try to make it up to the Logan County Democrats at his first available chance. Durbin is keeping his word on Saturday morning.

All Logan County Democrats are welcome to attend. Note the change in meeting location.
