[August 12, 2011]  The Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the return of the Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival Parade.

The festival will kick off Aug. 26 with a lights and siren parade that will include pilots, sponsors and community members. The lineup will take place down Wyatt Avenue at 2:45 p.m., and the parade will start at 3:30 p.m. on Kickapoo. The parade will then travel north and turn left onto Pulaski Street, turn right onto Chicago, turn right onto Pekin Street, then turn left onto Kickapoo Street and continue traveling north to Airport Road, turning onto Airport Road and entering the festival through the main gates.

This year, for the first time, parade entries will be allowed to pass out candy and giveaways to viewers along the route.

The chamber of commerce looks at this as a great opportunity to showcase sponsors, pilots and the community as we begin a weekend of fun and entertainment. The chamber encourages the community to get involved and celebrate. To join the parade lineup, call 217-735-2385 or email the office at events@lincolnillinois.com for complete registration information.
