Fire department seeks information on Monday morning car fire

[August 16, 2011]  At 4:44 a.m. Monday, the Lincoln Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at 606 S. Kickapoo St. Upon their arrival, they found a car with a small fire on the driver's-side rear corner. The firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly with a minimal amount of water. No one was injured during the fire.

The car is valued at approximately $5,000, and the cost of the damage is approximately $3,000.

The fire was discovered by a Lincoln Police Department officer who was on patrol in the neighborhood.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. If anyone has information related to this fire, they are urged to call the Lincoln Fire Department at 217-735-4020.
