Get lost ... and have fun in the Lincoln Corn Maze

[August 16, 2011]  Get lost ... and have fun?

Yes! It's entirely possible at the Lincoln Corn Maze, located just west of the Kruger Elevator, off Route 66.

The Peck family has done it again at this year's Lincoln Corn Maze. Owner Jill Peck gratefully expresses, "We never could have done it without the tireless help of numerous friends."

The amazing 9-acre corn maze will open Friday for its second season. This year's maze -- which is even bigger and more fun-filled than last year -- features an original design of a charming, old-time farm scene. Navigate your way through the giant hay barn, John Deere tractor, towering grain silo, old-fashioned windmill, apple tree (complete with a tire swing) and the larger-than-life rooster.

Play along the paths as you hunt for "chicken" eggs, swing on the tire swing, climb through the giant tractor tire and search for the roosting rooster.

Choose your own strategy of exploration through this unforgettable maze as you maneuver through the standing corn, using your own sense of direction, or stroll at your leisure, guided by a convenient map. And the fun doesn't end when the sun goes down. Visit after dark for a new twist to the excitement as you explore by moonlight or flashlight.

New attractions for this year include old-fashioned games and races at the Tire Track; the No-Left-Turn Maze; the Puzzling Pallet Maze, including a two-story fort; Grandma's Garden Hose Maze; and a "hot off the grill" barbecue with home-cooked fixin's. Additionally, the Tangled-Web Rope Maze is twice the size of last year's maze, and the Shoot-Out giant water balloon slingshot is still a challenge to kids of all ages.

Your visit won't be complete until you have enjoyed the free hayride and taken a few moments to meet the friendly farm animals at Farmer Ben's Animal Corral. This is one unforgettable experience of real down-on-the-farm fun! Or, as the Lincoln Corn Maze slogan says, it is "More fun for the whole family than you can imagine!"
