[August 20, 2011]  GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Officials say one man has been killed after severe weather moved through northeastern Wisconsin.

Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve says in a statement that 43-year-old Douglas E. Brem, who recently moved to the Wausaukee area, was pronounced dead at the scene after the storm moved through Friday evening. No other injuries were reported.

Wisconsin Division of Emergency Management spokeswoman Lori Getter says it appears a tornado touched down in the area as the storm moved through about 5 p.m. She says trees and power lines are down and about 2,000 people are without power in Marinette and neighboring Menomonie counties.

The National Weather Service says the storm also packed nearly 2-inch hail.

A damage survey team is scheduled to go out on Saturday.
