Shaun Garrison, driving the 11G, found himself in victory lane in
the Street Stock class. Mechanical issues plagued the 11G last week,
but the crew worked throughout the week to find and fix the problem.
Garrison, or "Rookie" as most racers know him, as well as his crew
knew that hard work and persistence would pay off.
The Modified class was filled with area "big hitters." Brent
Mullins in the 41M , former national UMP champion Jeff Leka driving
the 128, Brian Lynn in the 14, Guy Taylor in the 77 and Matt Goulden
in the 41G were just a few of the big dogs at the Lincoln Speedway
Saturday night.
Starting side by side in the eight-lap heat race, Flyn' Brian in
the 14 and Leka in the 128 entertained fans and kept them in
suspense, as the two battled for the lead on four different
occasions, passing one another, with Leka choosing the low line of
the track and Flyn' Brian running the high side. The 14 car pulled
it out and captured the heat win.
The action didn't stop at the heat race either. The feature event
for this class was just as exciting. With Lynn in the 14 starting on
the outside front row and Austin May in the 9 starting on the pole,
the rest of the field had to be on top of their game when the green
flag was waved. Charging hard were Mullins and Leka chasing after
Flyn' Brian, who led the whole race. Mullins in the 41M was reeling
the 14 car in when a caution slowed the field down. On the restart,
the 14's crew told Lynn to run low in turns 1 and 2 and high in
turns 3 and 4. With this change in his line, Mullins and Leka
couldn't catch him.

Capturing his 10th feature win of the 2011 season, Flyn' Brian
and crew were just glad to be racing such great competition. Lynn
said, "It's always fun to race against these guys. They're good, and
we like the challenge."
Come out Friday night and enjoy some great racing action, as the
Lincoln Speedway will have a full regular show and the season is
coming to a close.
