Windsor

Windsor, N.H., on Sunday. A weakened but dangerous Tropical Storm
Irene dumped up to half a foot of rain in places, flooded roads, knocked down
trees and left more than 165,000 New Hampshire homes and businesses in the dark
before blowing out of the state on Sunday.

attempts to broadcast from the windswept Coney Island boardwalk in
New York as Hurricane Irene intensified on Sunday. Barely a hurricane, but massive and
packed with rain, Irene lumbered onto the New Jersey shore Sunday
morning on its way toward pummeling New York, which turned eerily
quiet as the city hunkered down.
Because of the special way they
suckle, breastfed babies have fewer speech problems than
bottle-fed babies. Their tongue and jaw muscles are
exercised in just the right way.

The Beach Bums of Lincoln finished 33rd in the
2011 APA 9-Ball National Team Championship, conducted by the
American Poolplayers Association on Aug. 18-22 at the Riviera
Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. That is the highest a team from Logan
County has ever placed.
The Beach Bums advanced to the national championship by
qualifying at their local championship. More than 300 North
American teams comprised the APA 9-Ball National Team Championship
field. The Beach Bums participated in weekly league play at the
Glass House Tavern in Lincoln.
