Saturday night at the airport

The balloons gathered, and as thousands watched, one of the best glows one can remember ended the balloon portion of the evening. Unfortunately the airport lost power, delaying the remainder of the evening's events. In pictures 5 and 6 you can see how the quick thinking of airport coordinator Patrick Doolin, who moved one of the parking lot stanchions of generator-powered lights to the south end of the airport, really made a difference. When the generator brought in by the Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District kicked in, the crowd of music enthusiasts was given a rousing performance by the Brat Pack band.
