The District 27 Cadet Band performed Tuesday night in the annual holiday concert. The band is made up of grade school students from Central, Carroll Catholic, Northwest and Washington-Monroe elementary schools. The director is Susan Kuhlmyer.

Cadet Band members practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays before school. They are new band students who have learned their instruments since school started three months ago.

Mrs. Kuhlmyer announced that most of the Concert Band members were on the honor roll. With that being said, the band opened its segment of the program with "Honor Roll March."

After the opening song, the Concert Band performed "Jasmine Flower," "What Child is This?," "Strike Up the Band," "Hark! the Herald Angels Sing," "Rocky Mountain Holiday," "The Little Drummer Boy" and "Auld Lang Syne."

Director Susan Kuhlmyer thanked Mrs. Larson, the junior high band director, for assisting with the production, and the staff at the schools who cooperate with her schedule for practices and lessons.
