Grains futures mixed, livestock prices fall

[December 08, 2011]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures traded mixed in early trading Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for March delivery fell 3.50 cents to $6.0950 a bushel; March corn fell 4.25 cents to $5.9225 a bushel; March oats rose 0.25 cent to $3.04 a bushel; and January soybeans fell 1.50 cent to $11.28 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February live cattle slipped 0.55 cent to $1.19 a pound; January feeder cattle fell 0.77 cent to $1.4135 a pound; while February lean hogs fell 0.03 cent to 86.12 cents a pound.
