[December 08, 2011]  The Lincoln Christian University men's basketball team lost a competitive game to NCAA Division III Eureka College Wednesday night 78-73. The Red Lions of LCU came into the Laughlin Center knowing they would need their "A" game to pull out a victory.

LCU was led by senior Mark Hamm, who recorded 18 points. Hamm has been in great form lately, averaging nearly 18 points per game in the last three games. Junior Brady Cremeens and senior Chris Lawson put up 14 points each. Freshman Gabe Langseth showed his potential as he came off the bench and added another 10 points.

The Red Lions started out strong by taking a seven-point lead in the early minutes. Eureka stepped up their defense, making it a close game throughout the match. In the last eight minutes the Red Devils of Eureka College took an 11-point lead. Just as they have in the past, the Red Lions created hope for their fans in the final minutes by pulling as close as four points.

LCU (2-7) will be back in action as they await the arrival of Kuyper College for a game on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Laughlin Center.
