Elks Lodge opens new restaurant

[December 07, 2011]  The leadership of Elks Lodge 914 is working with Ted Lowers to bring the community a new and unique restaurant. In September the restaurant at the Elks closed due to financial issues. At that time and for the many years it had been in business, the restaurant had been a benefit that only Elks members could take advantage of.

HardwareThe new restaurant, Mr. Lincoln's On the Fairway, will have limited hours through the holiday season and it will be open to the public. Pending an agreement with the Elks leadership for the leasing of space in the dining room and lounge, they are projecting that Mr. Lincoln's On the Fairway will open permanently with set hours in March and will remain open to the public. The new restaurant will be operated by Ted Lowers, formerly of Ted's Garage in Clinton. Lowers and staff will also handle all special catered events in the Elks ballroom.

This month, Mr. Lincoln's will offer a Sunday breakfast buffet in the ballroom on Dec. 11 and 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a menu that consists of sliced ham, sausage, breakfast casserole, scrambled eggs, Bs & Gs, hash browns, fresh fruit, assorted pastries, omelet station, and an oatmeal bar. All you can eat for $11 for adults and $6 for youth; children under 3 years old eat free.

Mr. Lincoln's On the Fairway will also be open on select evenings in the dining room and lounge -- perfect for holiday party bookings -- on Dec. 8, 15 and 17 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The menu selection for these evenings is charbroiled rib-eye steak, pork porterhouse, grilled salmon and grilled boneless chicken breast, with several selections for sides and desserts. The pricing ranges from $13.95 to $19.95. The bar will also be open during these times for wine and other cocktails.

For reservations or to book a special catered event in the ballroom, call 217-732-3914, ext. 113.

Through this agreement with Lowers, the Elks hope to offer a full-service facility to members as well as maintaining a viable restaurant on the property by opening it up to the entire community.
