[December 12, 2011]  RIVER GROVE -- The No. 3-ranked Lincoln College wrestling team traveled to River Grove in the Chicago area to compete in the 22nd Art Kraft Memorial Tournament at Triton College on Saturday. The competition at this tournament was mainly junior college wrestlers. For the LC wrestlers it was a good preview of the regional and national level.

The Lynx had 13 place winners in the top six and the tournament’s outstanding wrestler in Ethan Raley.

The LC placers were as follows:

  • 133 -- Prentice Thomas, sixth

  • 141 -- Ethan Raley, first, and selected as outstanding wrestler

  • 157 -- Mike Togher, second; Darnell Thomas, fourth; Alex Young, sixth

  • 165 -- Steve Burling, sixth

  • 174 -- Colt Adye, fifth

  • 184 -- Mike Johnson, first

  • 197 -- Matt Dwyer, first; TJ Hall, fifth

  • Hwt -- Gabe Berry, third; Darvin Fridge, fifth; West Cathcart, sixth

"Today was an enjoyable day of wrestling for the Lynx fans," said Lincoln coach Steven Bradley. "I hope we have continued success in the weeks to come."

Next weekend the starting lineup for the team will travel to Indianapolis to compete in the Midwest Classic. "This will be a very good tournament for our guys to showcase what they can do in front of many Division II and III coaches," Bradley said.
