Lincoln Youth Wrestling results

[December 12, 2011]  Lincoln Youth Wrestling kicked off the season Dec. 4 with the Lincoln Railer Rumble. From around the state, 430 kids attended the tournament.

Results of the Lincoln tournament:

First place -- Coleman Atkins, Kion Carson, Collin Cogdill, Tony Gandolphi, Wyatt Mammen, Austin O'Donoghue, Chase Reed, Ethan Towers

Second place -- Cooper Atkins, Alex Bogdanic, Trevor Bree, Kani Carson, Bryton Fuchs, Terrance Hyde, Dustin Meachum, Kade Schmidt, Devyn Snow, Roux Starr, Cade Tanner, Malikye Trussel, Tyler Werth

Third place -- Zane Hartman

Fourth place -- Claidyn Bottoms, Zac Fuller, Sarerick Grimes, Riley Helton, Justin Horchem, Grant Laubenstein, Jacob Lawrence, JR Lynn, Billie Merreighn, Braydon Saylor, Kayden Skelton, Chelsey Werth, Bentley Wise, Nolan Yeates, Isaiah Yoakum

The Lincoln Youth Wrestling team traveled to Springfield yesterday (Dec. 11) to compete in the Capital Classic youth wrestling tournament at Lanphier High School. The results by divisions were as follows:

6 and under -- Cooper Atkins took second. Jacob Lawrence, Grant Laubenstein, Bentley Wise and Kaden Skelton took fourth.

Bantam -- Austin O'Donoghue and Colman Atkins finished in first. Dustin Meachum, Bryton Fuchs and Tony Gandolfi placed second. Billie Merrighn and Case Reed were third. Sarerick Grimes, Terrance Hyde, Isaiah Yoakum and Riley Helton took fourth. Ashton Koontz placed fifth.

Intermediate -- Trevor Bree, Tyler Werth and Ethan Towers placed first. Alex Bogdanic and Kade Schmidt got second. J.R. Lynn and Collin Cogdill placed third. Brayden Saylor, Roux Starr, Nolan Yates and Devyn Snow were fourth.

Senior -- Chelsey Werth placed third.

Lincoln Youth Wrestling will travel to Clinton next Sunday to compete in the Clinton Challenge youth wrestling tournament.
