On
a gray, rainy Wednesday morning, these buildings on Pulaski
Street, commonly known as the "twin sister" houses, look cold,
dreary and badly in need of repair. However, next year in the
fall, the LCHS building trades class will begin a restoration
project that will turn the homely sisters into the beauties they
once were. Working for and with a not-for-profit formed by local
businessman David Lanterman, the class will restore the homes to
livable condition. When the project is completed, the properties
will be leased out, with net profits to be invested back into the
community in future downtown beautification or renovation
projects.

Wiltshire on Thursday. The omens are good that 2012 will be an
excellent year, a druid said today, after the sun shone on Stonehenge during
a dawn ceremony to mark the solstice.
