Head Start knows that parents are the first and most important
teachers of their children. Parents are welcomed as partners in the
Head Start preschool experience. Head Start is designed to provide a
variety of opportunities that help a child develop socially,
intellectually, physically and emotionally in an age-appropriate
manner.
Community Action Head Start provides center-based preschool
services in Logan County. The program includes a nutritionally
balanced meal program, medical and dental examinations, as well as
screenings for hearing, vision and speech. In addition to the
services received by the child, the staff assists parents in their
efforts to improve the quality of life for themselves and their
children.
Community Action Head Start is a program of Community Action
Partnership of Central Illinois. The agency also offers Early Head
Start services to pregnant women and children through age 3.
Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois serves the
low-income and senior populations of six Illinois counties. For more
