[February 10, 2011]  The Lincoln College Athletic Department has a new athletic logo, designed by Lincoln College employee and local artist Deb Shull Andrews. The new design will be the official logo for all of the Lynx athletic teams.

The new logo was introduced last weekend when the men's basketball team unveiled their 2010 national championship banner. The banner is on permanent display in the Jack D. Nutt Arena, alongside the 1989 and 1991 national championship wrestling banners.

Last spring, Lincoln College sponsored a logo design contest in the community schools. Danielle Burgrabe, a fifth-grader at Zion Lutheran, and Haley Welch, an eighth-grader at Lincoln Junior High, were the winners. Their Lynx renditions are on display in the hallway of the Lincoln Center.

On Saturday, the athletic court at the Lincoln Center will officially be named the "Zurkammer Pickering Court" at a ceremony honoring Tom Zurkammer and Allen Pickering, two longtime employees of Lincoln College. The ceremony will be at approximately 2:30 p.m., between the women's and men's home basketball games. Over the summer, the court in Jack D. Nutt Arena will be painted with its new name and the new Lynx logo at center court.

The men's and women's basketball teams are hosting John Wood Community College on Saturday. The John Wood men's team is currently first in the conference while the Lynx sit one game behind in second place. The Lynx men are currently ranked No. 8 in the latest NJCAA National Poll.
