This Dec. 3, 2010, photo shows Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan during the first half of an NBA basketball game against the Dallas Mavericks in Salt Lake City. A person with knowledge of the situation says Sloan is stepping down as head coach of the Jazz. The person told The Associated Press on Thursday that longtime assistant Phil Johnson also will resign.
