Finalists announced for $100,000 Jewish book prize

[February 11, 2011]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Fiction writers Julie Orringer and Allison Amend are among this year's finalists for a $100,000 prize for best Jewish literature.

Amend's "Station's West" and Orringer's "Invisible Bridge" are finalists for the Sami Rohr Prize in Jewish Literature. Other nominees are Nadia Kalman's "The Cosmopolitans," Austin Ratner's "The Jump Artist" and Joseph Skibell's "A Curable Romantic."

The winner, who receives $100,000, will be announced May 31. The first runner-up gets $25,000.
