With this production, the director
and performers set out to prove
that Shakespeare's bawdy humor is still socially relevant and funny
some 400 years after it was first penned. The story is filled with
trickery, deceit, marriage, mistaken identity, betrayal and of
course, love. All of which are thoroughly modern themes. "Much Ado
About Nothing" will have audience members laughing and wondering
what will happen next. Included in the show is an original music
score composed by Lincoln College's own Alexandra Williams.
The show is directed by Kenneth Z. Kendall, who chairs the
Lincoln College Fine Arts Division.
The cast includes students and community members, with Chase
Doolin from Decatur as Borachio, Cody Follis from Lincoln as
Claudio, Cody Ford from Pekin as Antonio, Mikel Frost from Lincoln
as Don Pedro, Austin Schrader from San Jose as Leonato, McKenzie
Ward from Springfield as Conrade and Ursula, and Alexandra Williams
from Lincoln as Balthasar and the Sexton. Other cast members are
Neiko Boyd, James Burdsall, Cassandra Ellwing, Eddie Johnson,
Courtney Jones, Craig Noort, Kristin Petrelli, Alexandrea Reed and
Lauren Trimble.
Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23-26 and a matinee performance
is at 2 p.m. Feb. 27.
