Hilary Hobler sets personal long jump record

[February 14, 2011]  Hilary Hobler, a 2009 graduate of Lincoln Community High School and currently an Illinois State University sophomore, set a new personal record long jump of 18 feet, 7.75 inches, or 5.68 meters, in bringing home a seventh-place finish in a field of 47 athletes in the prestigious Iowa State Classic. Some of the best competitors from the Big Ten and Big 12 conferences were entered in the weekend competition.

Hobler's Iowa State performance followed her previous weekend performances at Illinois Wesleyan University, where she took second in the long jump with 5.37 meters and fourth in the 55-meter dash with a personal record time of 7.42 seconds.
