[February 17, 2011]  GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Don Mattingly has opened spring training camp for the first time as a major league manager.

His Los Angeles Dodgers got started Wednesday when pitchers and catchers reported.

Mattingly says he's not concerned with side issues such as music in the clubhouse, hair length and facial hair.

The new man in charge also made an announcement, saying Clayton Kershaw will start on opening day against San Francisco on March 31.
