Oglesby Ave. bridge closed to traffic

[February 18, 2011]  The city of Lincoln has temporarily closed the Oglesby Avenue bridge to vehicular traffic. An inspection of the bridge turned up an issue that necessitated the closure for repairs and further inspection.

The city engineer, street superintendent and the Illinois Department of Transportation Bureau of Bridges and Structures inspected the Oglesby Avenue bridge and surrounding bridges on Friday. In the next 10 days, IDOT will provide the city with additional information on recommendations for the Oglesby Avenue bridge.
