The report should arrive in the mail the week of
Feb. 21. Residences and businesses in Logan County as well as those
in nearby Greenview, Mason City, Easton, Armington and Waynesville
can expect to receive a copy. One in-depth story features the
equipment and innovations planned at the new hospital, which the
community will have the chance to tour during a special public open
house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 12. Another feature story
highlights equipment and training that has made it possible for ALMH
to offer PICC line placement, which is for a peripherally inserted
central catheter. Other stories detail innovations that provide
better privacy and conveniences for patients and for employees, who
have gone above and beyond their job descriptions to create great
patient experiences every day.
"While it would have been easy for us to focus only on
construction of our new hospital in 2010, I am proud of our team of
employees who have continued to live our mission every day," said
Dolan Dalpoas, president and chief executive officer of ALMH.
"Patient care has always been the driving factor in all we do, and
ALMH is blessed with physicians, staff and volunteers who take
tremendous pride in making sure your community hospital is a place
where the exceptional care is the standard."
The report highlights the $4.3 million of donations ALMH made to
the community in the form of unpaid costs of public programs,
traditional charity care and various health prevention and education
initiatives.
Included is a donor stewardship report from the Abraham Lincoln
Healthcare Foundation, including a special recognition of major
benefactors and a listing of all donors making gifts in 2011. Those
who have contributed to the Preserve the Mission campaign are also
named in a special section.
"We could not be more proud that our community stands behind our
mission by offering philanthropic support," says Marty Ahrends,
executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Healthcare
Foundation. "Thanks to their loyal support, not only can we provide
scholarships, fund programs and purchase technology, but we can also
ensure that the best in patient care can continue to be available in
Logan County."
