LSE to resume trading after technical halt

[February 25, 2011]  LONDON (AP) -- The London Stock Exchange says it has resolved technical issues that forced it to halt trading for several hours.

Shortly before midday GMT on Friday, the LSE placed the market into a pause phase and said firms are successfully entering, deleting and amending orders.

The exchange says it is moving into an auction call phase with live trading due to resume at 12:15 GMT.

Friday's outage is another blow for the exchange as it attempts to introduce new trading systems. Earlier this week, Borsa Italiana, the LSE's Milan platform, was hit by a five-hour outage.
