Red Lions men advance in NCCAA II tournament

[February 25, 2011]  CHICAGO -- The men's basketball team from Lincoln Christian University won their opening game at the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Mid-West Regional Tournament on Thursday by defeating the Great Lakes Christian College Crusaders 101-79.

Advancing to the semifinals, LCU will face Maranatha Baptist Bible College today at 5 p.m.

Four LCU players scored in double figures, led by Brady Cremeens with 34 points, including 8 of 14 from 3-point range. Chris Lawson contributed 24 points, including 5 of 8 3-pointers. Troy Lane added 16 points and Kyle Rust had 10.

The Red Lions shot 51.6 percent from the field and a blistering 58.3 percent from the 3-point distance. LCU also outrebounded GLCC 44-38.

The Red Lions, under the leadership of coach Matt Clark, improved their season record to 20-7.
