NCCAA regional at LCU

[February 26, 2011]  Moody Bible Institute and Maranatha Baptist Bible College will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday for the championship of the NCCAA Division II Mid-West tournament in women's basketball  at the Laughlin Center on the campus of Lincoln Christian University. A trip to the national finals in Springfield, Mo., awaits the winner.

HardwareMoody, the No. 1 seed, advanced by defeating Kuyper College 78-61. The Archers were led by Stephanie Homontowski with 20 points and Kia Steward-Butler with 17 points. Seven other players scored for Moody. The Kuyper College Cougars were led by Caitlyn Ouwinga with 24 points, Megan Ritsemo with 17 points and Emily Wittenbach with 15 points.

The Crusaders of Maranatha advanced to the finals by defeating Grace Bible College 67-48. Maranatha was led by Torey DeLozier with 20 points and Autumn Peotter with 10 points. Eight other players scored for Maranatha. Grace Bible was led by Jessica Sikorski with 20 points and Alex Rios with 13 points.
