Lincoln College wrestling places 6th at NJCAA nationals

[February 28, 2011]  The Lincoln College wrestling team wrapped up their season at nationals, finishing sixth in the nation and placing six wrestlers on the all-American team.

Individual all-Americans:

  • 133 lbs. -- D'Marcus Spencer, Indianapolis, Ind., sophomore, sixth place

  • 141 lbs. -- DaMonte Riley, Chicago Heights, sophomore, third place

  • 149 lbs. -- Mark Marianovich, Chicago, freshman, fourth place

  • 174 lbs. -- James Haywood, Robbins, sophomore, fifth place

  • 184 lbs. -- Michael Johnson, Indianapolis, Ind., freshman, seventh place

  • 197 lbs. -- Fred Moses, Justice, sophomore, seventh place

Head coach Dave Klemm said: "I am very proud of these guys. They worked very (hard) to earn this. I'm also extremely grateful (to) my assistant coaching staff, especially Steven Bradley. They did a great job in preparing these guys for this tournament."

Season recap:

  • 12-2 record

  • Fourth-place finish in the regional tournament

  • Qualified all 10 wrestlers to the national tournament

  • Sixth-place finish in the national tournament

  • Six all-Americans
