[December 31, 2010]  The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign is still going on.

Going into the morning of New Year's Eve, the current annual Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign total stood at $21,325.33. That represents 35.5 percent of the campaign goal of $60,000.

"It's not over until it's over!" So says Rebecca Van Nydeggen, local director of The Salvation Army. "We have a big task for assistance to Logan County residents ahead of us in 2011, and we have a financial goal to match the task. We will continue until our goal is met and projected assistance can be funded for the coming year!"

Kettles remain for physical donations made by check or cash at Lincoln IGA, Stacy's Family Pharmacy, Bryant's Arcade Restaurant and both branches of Logan County Bank, downtown and on Woodlawn Road.

Donations made by mail and postmarked Dec. 31 will be credited with a year-end tax-deductible donation receipt for donors. Donations may be mailed to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 52, Lincoln, IL 62656.

The Online Red Kettle remains open until the goal is met.
