[January 07, 2011]  MERCER ISLAND, Wash. -- The Best Christian Workplaces Institute has announced that Lincoln Christian University is certified as a 2011 Best Christian Workplace. Lincoln Christian University qualified for this honor due to high scores in the anonymous BCW survey of employees.

Employees of Lincoln Christian University answered more than 50 questions measuring how well the university is doing when it comes to employee job satisfaction, employee organizational commitment, Christian witness, supervisory effectiveness, opportunities for personal growth and development, customer and supporter satisfaction, teamwork, communication, and fairness of pay and benefits. Additional open-ended questions give the leaders of Lincoln Christian University an opportunity to glean even more insight into how they are doing and ways they can improve.

The survey has been conducted in the U.S. and Canada for the past eight years and made its debut in Australia this year. Each organization surveyed has a Christian mission or values.

The Best Christian Workplaces Institute explains: "Although our survey covers a wide range of qualities that a God-glorifying organization should exhibit, there are some foundational qualities that emerge among the best of the best. These include trust in leadership and a unity found in faith."

When asked what makes Lincoln Christian University great, one employee explained: "The relationships that exist among the employees of the LCU, excluding senior leadership, is generally cohesive and strong. Mutual love and respect are the norms, rather than the exceptions."

Al Lopus, president of BCWI, notes: "We salute this year's Best Christian Workplaces for their intentional efforts to nurture an organizational culture that reflects God's divine nature, even in a difficult economy. One benefit of a healthy organizational culture is that it translates to meaningful ministry growth, based on our research. We would strongly encourage anyone who isn't working in a Christian organization to consider one of these, especially if they have a desire to be a part of a mission greater than themselves."

Best Christian Workplaces Institute's purpose is to serve faith-based organizations by creating processes of discovery, facilitating organizational effectiveness and encouraging practices that build healthy workplaces.
