"We have a long way to go before credit normalizes," Zentner said. The strength in November came in the category that includes auto loans and student loans. The category that includes credit card debt fell for a record 27th month, although the November drop was smaller than the previous four months. Borrowing in area of student loans and credit cards rose 4.2 percent in November after a 9.4 percent advance in October. Consumers borrowed 6.3 percent less on their credit cards in November following a decline of 8.1 percent in October.
