'Beauty and the Beast' opens Thursday at LCHS

[January 08, 2011]  The Lincoln Community High School Department of Fine Arts will present the age-old fairy tale "Beauty and the Beast," as written by Michele L. Vacca, beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. Additional performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16. There will be no performance on Jan. 15.

The performances will feature a Scholastic book fair as well as milk and cookies as concessions. During the family-friendly event there will be a raffle for free Scholastic books.

Cast members include Shelby Voyles as Flora, Katy Langdon as Belinda Bell, Samuel Filbeck as Prince/Beast and Christopher Hazel as Belinda’s father. Playing dual roles are Wyatt Phillis, Ryder Mills, Tegan Follis, Lauren Stanfield, Jade Dean, Rachel Skelton, Elizabeth Dye, Amy Knutilla, Sara Buchanan, Konnor Browne, Paul-Niclas Preuss, Matthew Langdon, Libby Evans, Darvez Stancle, Jacqueline Keysear, Haley Welch, Justin Brown, Olivia Graue, Jenna Williams, Shelby Lessen, Elizabeth Jaegle, Tara Shane, Morgan Conrady and Morgan Kincheloe.

The production is directed by Jennifer Keith, with assistance from junior Kaylee McAllister.

Original music was written for the production by senior Matthew Mason. Set construction was designed and completed by Cody Follis.

Crew members are Rebecca Kirk, Benjamin Brooks, Nick Satterfield, Devin Biggs, Jordyn Kunkel, Joella Vermeire, John Davis, Brock Blees, Allison Mayernick, Rachel Marlin, Madison Bishop, Kathryn Arneaud, Chelsea Keller, Molly Buttell and Kelsey Fults.
