Korn Krib battery suspect arrested

[January 11, 2011]  On Saturday, the Logan County Sheriff's Office received a call from the owner of the Korn Krib bar. The owner said he was at the bar, the bartender's vehicle was running in the parking lot, and the business was locked with the lights off. Logan County deputies responded to the scene and discovered the bartender injured, lying on the floor inside the business.

HardwareFurther investigation indicated that robbery appeared to be the motive for the incident. The Logan County Sheriff's Office was able to identify a suspect and take him into custody at approximately 6:05 a.m.

The suspect is Jeremy S. Yates, 32, of Latham. Yates has been charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated battery. Additional charges are pending. Bond has been set at $500,000.

The victim is currently in intensive care at an area hospital. The name is being withheld until family has been properly notified.
