[January 12, 2011]  NEW YORK (AP) -- David McCullough's next book, a history of American artists and intellectuals in Paris, is coming out in May.

Hardware"The Greater Journey" is the historian's first full-length work since "1776." That book came out in May 2005 and sold more than 1 million copies. McCullough has won the Pulitzer Prize for "John Adams" and "Truman."

In a statement released Tuesday by Simon & Schuster, the 77-year-old McCullough called "The Greater Journey" the result of a lifelong fascination with Paris and said his book was a tribute to those "who brought home so much of immense value to all of us."
