Lincoln College announces Behrends Scholarship recipients

[January 21, 2011]  Lincoln College is announcing the recipients of the Anna K. and Bernard E. Behrends Endowed Scholarship.

This scholarship is named in honor of brother and sister alumni Bernard, LC '48, and Anna, LC '36, and is awarded to students demonstrating academic promise who are also graduates of a Logan County high school or high school contiguous to Logan County. Each year, the Behrends scholarships help deserving students to realize their dream of a college education.

This year's recipients are:

• Ashley Allers, a 2006 graduate of Lincoln Community High School and the daughter of Mike and Tammy Goff of Winona, Minn.

• Kristine Apel, a 2010 graduate of Lincoln Community High School and a resident of Beason.

• Kashae Benton, a 2010 graduate of Springfield High School and the daughter of Marianna Mills Sanders of Springfield and Larry Benton of Quincy.

• Maxwell D. Buse, a 2010 graduate of Lincoln Community High School and the son of Bob and Kathy Buse of Beason.

• TJ Hall, a 2009 graduate of Pekin Community High School and the son of Tim Hall of Pekin.

• Cheyenne Huddleston, a 2009 graduate of Pekin High School and the daughter of Rodona Bennett and Robert Huddleston of Pekin.

• Kayla Jenkins, a 2009 graduate of Lincoln Community High School and the daughter of Brian and Angie Jenkins of New Holland.

• Ciara Jones, a 2010 graduate of Normal Community West High School and the daughter of Lawrence Jones of Normal.

• George Kennett, a 2009 graduate of Lincoln Community High School and the son of Dwaine Kennett and Rhonda Kennett of Lincoln.

• Andrea Smith, a 1999 graduate of Lincoln Community High School and the daughter of Nathan Smith of Springfield.

• Taylor Vanos, a 2007 graduate of Lincoln Community High School and the daughter of Jay and Kalyn Berglin of Lincoln.

• Alexandra Williams, a 2009 graduate of Lincoln Community High School and the daughter of Rick and Cindy Williams of Lincoln.

• Logan Wilson, a 2009 graduate of Greenview Junior-Senior High School and a resident of Greenview.

• Nikkita Zeidler, a 2010 graduate of Hartsburg-Emden High School and the daughter of Toni Bauer of Hartsburg.
