Overall, there were eight sports represented from Lincoln College,
with baseball producing the most members on the all-academic team
with seven. Lincoln College had one of the best years in history
of their athletics program. The men's basketball team captured their
second consecutive national championship. The men's swimming and
diving team finished third and the women's team fifth at the NJCAA
national championships and produced 30 NJCAA all-Americans in 80
different events. The men's soccer team won the Region 24
tournament for the first time in the school's history and finished
fifth at the NJCAA national championship. The wrestling team
produced six all-Americans and finished sixth at the national
championships. In the spring, the women's indoor and outdoor track
teams both won the Region 24 championship to advance to the national
championships, while the men's outdoor track team won the Region 24
championship.
"The overall success of our athletics program is a reflection of
the hard work of our coaches. To be able to lead the conference with
the most student-athletes selected to the all-academic team really
drives home the mission of Lincoln College: 'Lincoln College
uniquely empowers students to realize their full potential.' We have
a tremendous support staff, and all of the departments work together
to make sure the students have an opportunity to succeed," said Kirk
Whiteman, assistant athletic director.
